For students, witnessing Cricket World Cup is like a pilgrimage. College students specially relish such events of mammoth importance in groups. This group-watching, somehow, enhances the enthralling experience during nail-biting finishes. They indeed pay homage to their studies during those matches. During those breath holding and nerve intensifying matches they simply forget everything but the game of Cricket.
Just to give you a hint of it, try to recollect that moment of World Cup 2007 Finale, when Misbah Ul-Huq, attempted that lofted shot behind the stumps on Joginder Sharma’s delivery. Indeed your heart would have come in your mouth and every morsel of time would have made you to feel like it’s been ages since the ball is flying. As another instance, those gigantic SIX SIXES from Yuvraj on Stuart Brod must have broadened your smiles if you had watched them with your friends in your hostel canteen. Those after-moments of dancing, cheering, hugging, imitating shots and laughing can never be expressed in a few set of words. Imagine if you were to watch them alone, you would have never had that much of excitement. Indeed presence of those School or College friends would have been the main reason of that overwhelming feeling. Truly it is said; when you share your delight it gets multiplied.
As a crux, in essence, when you are with your friends during these Cricket matches, the psyche of real and ultimate Indian awakens. The ambiance of the college campus acts as a catalyst to it and blesses you with unforgettable memories.
